Derek Tan

Principle Physiotherapist

  • Meet the Director of Tan Hands. With 28 years of experience under his belt and a diverse background in sports and musculoskeletal physiotherapy, Derek has worked alongside elite athletes and physio teams across Australia and internationally. His treatment approach is informed by advanced training, including Connect Therapy, which supports a whole-body perspective to injury management and performance optimisation.

Beyond the clinic, Derek brings a unique dual expertise as a qualified mortgage broker registered with the MFAA. He helps clients navigate personal and business finance with the same analytical, client-focused mindset that defines his physiotherapy practice.

Derek divides his time between both professions—consulting at 1Health on Mondays and Wednesdays, at CCMC on Thursdays, and working remotely on other days to support his mortgage clients. Outside of work, he enjoys staying active and plays touch football regularly. In 2017 Derek became a qualified mortgage broker and registered with the MFAA helping people with all their personal and business financing needs

Derek’s work week is split between mortgage broking and physiotherapy
